First Youth Sustainability Fair Draws a Crowd

The Youth Sustainability Fair was the brainchild of the Andover High School Environmental Sustainability Internship Course student intern, Ava.  Ava worked tirelessly all year, with the help of her mentor, Mary Pritchard of WECAN, to envision, organize, and execute all of the details.

A high school rock band, a bike vendor, and ice cream truck kept folks busy outdoors, while town leaders and students of all ages hosted and visited over 30 tables inside. Students came from Pike, Phillips Academy, Andover High School, and Lexington High School.

They played climate-related games, participated in a clothing swap, planted seeds, and learned from each other about all of the amazing projects they're working on to reduce climate change and improve environmental sustainability in our communities. Select Board chair Melissa Danisch and Director of Sustainability and Energy, Joyce Losick-Yang took time out of their weekends to help celebrate the amazing work.
