WECAN:

Working to Educate Climate Action Now

Andover WECAN strives to prepare the community to lead and flourish in a sustainable future. We work to educate residents on steps individuals can take to reduce their climate impact.

As chapter of the Massachusetts Climate Action Network (MCAN), Andover WECAN joins community chapters across the Commonwealth that share a commitment to reducing climate change and a passion for a sustainable future. This network is made up of local independent organizations who believe that community-based climate solutions lead our commonwealth and our nation to action on climate change.

In April 2007 our elementary and middle school students gathered in support of cutting carbon emissions 80% by 2050.

We are a community-based group of volunteers that are pursuing projects and activities in our homes and throughout the town. Our goal is to address climate change that will reduce global warming though three critical efforts:

  • town-level policies,

  • personal actions,

  • support for state- and federal policies.
