Bringing Climate Action Home: Energy Efficient Building And Retrofitting

This event is presented by Egremont Green Committee and will feature the following three speakers in this order speaking for 15 – 20 minutes:

Evan Hardcastle, Egremont resident/377 Builders, explaining what carbon neutral and carbon positive structures are and speak about building zero energy and passive houses/accessory dwelling units.

Ned Wilson, Sunbug Solar, basic overview of how solar feeds into the grid providing homeowners with net credits. In addition, a not-too-technical explanation of how solar and other renewables play a key role in reaching state and federal decarbonization and electrification goals (ie: solar paired with heat pumps, electric vehicles, etc.). Speak to battery backup, incentives and tax credits if time allows.

Larry Chretien, Green Energy Consumers Alliance, will speak to federal and state incentives, including the Inflation Reduction Act and Mass Save.

At the end of the three presentations, there will be another 15 – 20 minutes allowed for a Q&A.
